The Bunny is the Fertility Goddess and other stories

So, my roomie and I were standing in the check-out line at Hobby Lobby yesterday. There was a shelf across from us containing yard decorations in the form of rabbits. I was pointing them out and expressing that I wasn't ready for Easter decorations when she says, "Ah, bunnies....the fertility goddess!" I looked at her, "What?" "They're symbols of the fertility goddess!" "No, you just said the bunny was the fertility goddess." At this point I was laughing hysterically.....maybe you had to be there.

In other news, my charming boyfriend sent me a half-dozen gorgeous red roses to the school. It was fun to show them off!!!!

I don't have school today or Monday...it's quite lovely!

Ode to a Year Ago

IT MIGHT BE HOPE by Sara Groves
You do your work the best that you can
you put one foot in front of the other
life comes in waves and makes it's demands
you hold on as well as your able

You've been here for a long long time

Hope has a way of turning it's face to you
just when you least expect it
you walk in a room
you look out a window
and something there leaves you breathless
you say to yourself
it's been a while since I felt this
but it feels like it might be hope

It's hard to recall what blew out the flame
it's been dark since you can remember
you talk it all through to find it a name
as days go on by without number

You've been here for a long long time

Hope has a way of turning it's face to you
just when you least expect it
you walk in a room
you look out a window
and something there leaves you breathless
you say to yourself
it's been a while since I felt this
but it feels like it might be hope

For a friend and all who find healing in confession & community

HONESTY by Sara Groves
Here in the stillness
where thoughts are born
here in our frailty we're tattered and torn

here in confession
here in our mess
here in the place where we're mostly undressed - mostly

oh honesty, oh honestly, the truth be told for the saving of our soul

here in the corner
where we craft our pain
here in the open we're laying our blame

here in the hallway
here behind doors
here in the places we wage our private wars

oh honesty, oh honestly, the truth be told for the saving of our soul

Only the truth and truthfulness can save us now/ only the truth and truthfulness can save us
Only the truth and truthfulness can save us now/ only the truth and truthfulness can save us
can save us now

My apologies

Dear friends:
Some of you have recently stumbled upon my site and tried subscribing. Unfortunately I am only allowed 10 names on my protected list unless I wish to shell out some money for Xanga Premium. I already have 10 members! :(
Sadly I just don't feel comfortable writing for everyone to see. So I am sorry that I cannot include you all!
Secondly, I want to make humble apologies for my joke about "special people" and my good friends....I was trying to be humorous but apparently miserably failed seeing as I have gotten some flack about it! :) I actually didn't know when I started protected posting that I could have only 10 friends on the list. Oops! Anyway, so I'm sorry if you feel left out or unloved. It was not at all my intention! I'd love to e-mail with you though! :)
Love, Me

Special people

You may have already figured this out but I'll tell you anyway. some of you have not subscribed to me but still should be able to read all of my posts because I put you on my list before you probably even knew that I had a site! This is only the 2nd post I haven't protected so if you've been able to read the others, you're already good to go!
